We, “The European Guitar Builders e. V. ” unfortunately find ourselves forced to announce that The Holy Grail Guitar Show, planned for May 2nd and 3rd, 2020 at the Hotel Estrel in Berlin, has to be cancelled.
The Berlin Senate issued a new decree on April 21, 2020, determining the necessary measures to curb the spread of the new coronavirus SARS-CoV -2 in Berlin. This ordinance, under § 4 of the general behavioral regulations, bans public and non-public events, and meetings such as planned by our association from taking place.
We are heartbroken to bring these sad news to you and share your disappointment. For us, The Holy Grail Guitar Show has been an important part of our lives in recent years and we regret that we cannot welcome you (again) in Berlin.
The protection of the health of all exhibitors, visitors and employees must of course come first. Accordingly, we hope that both the legal situation, which has developed since the enactment of the ordinance yesterday, and the decision based on it to cancel The Holy Grail Guitar Show, will ultimately be understood by all exhibitors, visitors, helpers and other participants, and will be equally supported by everyone!
Why cancel instead of postponing? A postponement would face unpredictable complications and many unknowns. In the current uncertain situation, it would not be a responsible choice to make further commitments.
We thank you for your patience so far and also for the trust that you have placed in us in the past, which has also made the success of the last four editions of The HGGS possible. We are not big event promoters, The HGGS has always been a ‘grass roots’ effort. In this uncertain time, community is more important than ever.
With this in mind, we are planning a virtual show for the Show weekend and cordially invite you to take part. More details will follow in the next few days on our website and Social Media channels.
With best wishes
